    PURDY
    Francis Purdy, of Fairfield, Conn., who died in 1658, is believed to have been the common ancestor of the numerous race bearing this name, scattered widely throughout our country.

    Three sons of Francis - John, Joseph and Francis - came early to Rye; John in the year 1670, Joseph by 1677, and Francis by 1679.
